INVENIRE

Invenire was my first translation experience. I was employed as a full-time translator who worked on translation projects mostly for the European Commission. I worked on the whole range of documents such as Regulations, Directives, Decisions or press releases. This job also allowed me to learn how to use CAT software: the Agency based its daily work on memoQ. Thanks to the in-house nature of my position, I could further develop my teamworking skills, cooperating with not only other translators but also  proofreaders, project managers, and administrative workers. Moreover, as this job involved translation primarly in English > Polish direction, I was able to master writing skills in Polish (commas, syntax, clear writing, etc.).

SWPS University

I attended B.A. English Studies at SWPS University. This major laid the foundation for my extensive knowledge of English and its culture, and because translation was my specialisation path, I learned various techniques how to translate like a pro. Thanks to many specialised courses conducted by the skilled practitioners, I could make most of their knowledge and expand my skills in a cohesive and systematic way. After graduation from B.A. studies, I decided to continue this path and started M.A. studies.

F.M.U. MARTIN

I’ve started my professional career at the agricultural importer company. It was my first office job where I learned various crucial skills, such as time management, multitasking, and expanded my  communication skills. As my tasks were varied (from negotiating agricultural machinery purchases to graphic designing), I became a very flexible person, able to rapidly adapt to new circumstances. Although this job did not include translation tasks, I was able to develop teamworking abilities that are particularly useful while working on translation projects.
